I had been planning a spellbook themed notebook for a while and I received a wee nudge from someone who was hoping to purchase one.  Enter the spellbook.  This campaign notebook features text from the Ars Notoria—a medieval grimoire written sometime in the 1200's by Solomon. The book included a series of prayers, incantations, and symbols said to have mystical properties granting the reader instant knowledge of magic, science, the divine, and the art of memory.

I wanted to follow that up with a sketch of an unusual monster.  I have been playing around with drawing tentacles and this kraken just fell into the page.  I really love how it turned out.
